Voices : IF

Another week that's short on time. This weeks word on Illustration Friday is Voices. i could have done the obvious and had him doing Macbeth but i thought Hamlet was more apropos for this weeks word. Rambunctious : IF

Ok, i lost my sketchpad...ooh the horror. i spent most of my time in an ennui ( yeah! i never get to use that word.) endlessly searching under all the clutter we call "holiday decorating". Well, today i found it so while waiting in the car for my sons school to let out i inked this. So i'm just in time to see what tomorrows word will be. But this weeks word for Illustration Friday is Rambunctious if you cant tell by the title of this post. We are expecting something like a foot of snow tonight. Guess i best look for the sleds.

This was a fun way to use up the last of the ink in a pen i had.

i did this one last night and cant seem to stop looking at it. It's the 1st time i've tried anything like it and i love the texture. Think i'll have to play more with this style.

i was mistaken. i did have time. Markers are fun!

It was a busy cold rainy day of rake'n before the garbage collector came. 13 bags total. Being Veterans Day my son had the day off so he helped and we had a lot of fun. We have a crazy tree in our front yard, with all the other trees on the street almost fully devoid of leaves this one is still green. Only bad part really about it is that means it drops its leaves as the snow starts falling and by spring it gets messy. Here's a picture of it from today.

New Sketchbook

Tape Worm

i drew this one a few weeks ago at work. It was spawned by my 6 year old,whom i believe must be hitting a growth phase. Well it made me laugh when i found it so i figure it might make one of you laugh as well.

Vote 08

This one is for my son. He's 6 and his school did a mock vote yesterday just for the kids to get in to the whole process. Whelp, he was so excited about the whole thing he is asking people all day so far today if they have voted. (they have the day off today cause the school he goes to is a voting place) i sketched this and he made me color it and loved the wood grain i added.

Yet another sketch based on a website that gives words for you to do illustration about. The word is Zombie and the website is Monday Artday. Most fun part of doing this one is it gave me a reason to look up Mange on Google, not that i added anything that resembles it to the drawing. Hope you had a good weekend, g

This time at Sugar Frosted Goodness the word is Nice. my son is in to robots lately and i'm doing a little on going robot sketch in his lunchbox each day i figured whats nicer then a boy and his robot. No i don't post at SFG its just another spot that gives me something to draw and i think i said it before but its worth repeating...go check out the site----->SFG.

Shade

So, this is my 1st attempt at shading using liner pens. Oookay, i would say i need a lot more practice but if i do much more now i might crack. i have even more respect then i did for people who can do this well. g

Break time

Strings: IF

So...this is a sketch i had to post. All week i've had little time to draw and what little time i had was working on the Illustration Friday word (this week it's Strings). i liked my idea but the only drawings i've liked are the sketches. Every time i try to do a more final drawing i hate it. Seeing how i can't seem to draw anything else till this is done im just gonna post this so i can call it DONE! and hope i can stop obsessing about it. Gah, i hope this Fridays word is less...affecting.
